If he is calling you Baby, you would want to go with something different. This can be based on a shared experience. (Not Tequila or Elevator fart)
It can also be based off of a shared food or body part. (Nacho or Loggerhead are good examples) They are however, too long for the long term usage you envision.
Upbeat and monosyllabic seems to be best. Decide on a good one before you throw it out there. It can change later, though awkwardly.
Chode, while great phonetically, may not be appropriate.
Good luck.

Do you not like being called baby?
Posted on 5/29/15 at 5:35 pm to Paige
You've just got to keep at it. He'll eventually stop thinking it is funny
Or call him something stupid like "buttons" or "tinkle pants"

Yes, I like it
But does he have issues for starting so soon?

You can call him

Honestly, I think Baby in a week is too early unless you're filling his head with a false reason he should feel comfy doing so.
Now, if he comes in and says " Hi, Beautiful", smile at that.

Agreed. What would I have filled his head with?
Well I did tell him he was the best I ever had. But that wasn't bullshite

Ok, well you've stroked his ego and he feels confident in where this could go if given time. Maybe he is very sincere then and I'm wrong. You'll know the signs if he starts to withdraw or progress his affections.

Ok. Now we're getting somewhere. I won't think he's weird then
And I already know he likes me because his friend that introduced us told me he does

Don't even ask him about this topic. Trust me.
