I have a Petroleum and Chemical education and background. I got involved in real estate after Katrina. Now, I basically flip houses. I also started a restaurant; and I have no idea what to expect (good thing I'm a silent partner; but I'm willing to learn.) I'm over 40 btw, Schmelly.
I do absolutely NOTHING with my degrees now.
But I will also tell you this. You can rip a place to shreds, make it look great again, and sell it for a nice chunk of change. Trust me, you don't need an architecture degree to do it either.

If you're absolutely sure you know what you want to do, then do it. If you're hemming and hawing or uncertain, reconsider.

I know this dude went to take his series 7 and 66 at 39 years old. Got hired at Edward Jones and is multi millionaire now at 56 years old.

If I had it all over to do again; I would of have done a masters in IT&F or something.
Them finance guys have a good life. Make really good money, off on all federal holidays, and weekends. Great 9-5 if you ask me.
ETA They also almost always beat me in golf too.

Asking too many people will create doubt. Have faith in what you have decided and run with it. Don't share too much with too many people, because at heart people hate anything unorthodox and will try to discourage you.

if you learn something in the medical professions or computer programming - you will get a job.
there are always openings for nurses.
male nurses are in demand.
computer programming is cut throat and you will have to constantly learn new things.

ayyyyyyyyy I know uh guy!
If it's a standard 75 sqft bath, 2 lavs, 1 terlit, 1 shower/bath; I wouldn't pay more than 7,500 for a complete remodel.
In and out depending on what's behind your walls.

If it's a BS degree then you can do a conversion to Construction Management
LINK
LSU is rated pretty high in CM and it's only 6 courses at a total cost of ~$5k. You can knock in out in 6 months if you take courses concurrently.

There's a Pearl Jam song called Given to Fly that describes this human nature. A man escaped the mundane, discovered freedom, returned to share it and was met with scorn and attacked. Just run with your vision. It's yours, not theirs.
