My wife has a co-worker who is named Karen, and truly is the stereotypical "Karen."

I know a Karen that is totally NOT a Karen.

My wife (no pics) is named Karen and is nothing like the memes. She does however find them to be hilarious.

This is kind of a lame attempt at whatever it is attempting. Karen is a little too common of a name for it to really work. I can think of all the females I know named Karen and only one comes anywhere near fitting in this typecasting box. And in fact one of the hottest girls I've ever met is named Karen.
It's like "Everybody knows a guy with the last name of Smith, right? You know the type..." No. I don't.

People use it because it's a common name for a middle aged woman. You could also use Carol or Linda interchangeably

I actually think I don’t know a Karen. Looked on Facebook first, and I’m not friends with one nor do I see one I’m mutual friends with.
