If you're going to spend the money anyway it might as well be on a rewards card. I actually ditched my debit card last week and everything's going on my rewards card instead.

Actually, I'm above the 99.5 percentile in math. I get about 15 free hotel nights per year in rewards, so that cuts the interest I pay in half with my balances at their peak. It makes my effective yearly interest rate about 6%.

Me

me three. I do a cash back card, and I get something like $500-800 cash back each year.

I would like to know what card you have that the rewards outweigh the interest

I probably put around 4-5k on my CCs a month.

I really need to start putting my work charges on mine too. That's another $5k/mo

Better up that so you can get all 30k MQM's

I only put a few major charges on mine because I started floating around 10k and our accounting department started slacking on reimbursements

Bacon: I'm really not sure if I'm renewing the reserve card...it's tough to shell out that kind of fee!

Yeah I'm not sure that I will either. The loss of that companion to the Skyclub killed the benefits for me. I will likely downgrade to the platinum.

It certainly didn't help. I probably only had people come in with me maybe 6 or 7 times over the last year so it shouldn't really affect my decision...I'm just not sure if I'm willing to do it. Of course, I'm going to hate being in the main terminal now.

I pay for everything I can with AMEX. I think it was highest when I built my house... like $80k one month.

You gotta get on that bro.

I wish my work expenses were out of this world but they aren't. I get to put some things on a card though.

I've tried to let them let me make transactions on my credit card that as of now, they send checks for. My "boss" knew what I was up to

It would have been an UNGODLY amount of money/rewards.

I've never made that claim, but the rewards cut my interest in half. I can live with that.

Ive used my Amex to float whole jobs before and at the end of the month wrote them a 6 figure check so discipline isnt my issue as much as preference. Id rather pay for stuff up front because doing what I you never know what could happen. Most of my jobs are paid net 30-60. It can be a nightmare if something holds that up.

So, the cash that you were going to write that check for at the beginning of the month suddenly disappears, and now at the end of the month you can't pay the CC?

I actually don't think it will happen soon. Nobody wants that At this point it's just considered a rebate on purchase.
