How much do you pay folks to put in flooring?

I want to change about 650 square feet from carpet to a hardwood laminate. How much is fair to offer my cousin to do it? Not trying to frick the guy, but I just don't know what the market rate is for installing flooring. Would include picking put the laminate from Home Depot (already paid for), pulling up the carpet and padding and putting down the laminate.
Thanks.
Thanks.

It really isn't that hard. A YouTube video and you can do it yourself. I'm sure labor at fifty bucks an hour is sufficient.

A case of beer and maybe a $20 gift card to Outback.

Quarter round to cover the joint where your base board meets the laminate. It's really cheap and easy to put in as well. It's much easier with a miter saw and nail gun. And if you're going with white, Home Depot has some that's already primed white.
ETA: I had a flooring guy quote me $1.50 per square foot to install mine but I ended up doing it myself.

Good word of thumb. WHAT YOU PAY IS WHAT YOU GET!!!! cheap might sound good in the long run. But cost more in the long run to have one come in and do it the right way. Ones who say they do it all....sheetrock tile and wood. Well from experience dont know jack. They the types who get in and get out and don't care bout THEIR craftsmanship!!!!!!

Just less than two grand is reasonable without shoemolding give or take. But since I'm forbidden to be honest on. It might be more lol

$200 only because I did it before. Hardest part is cutting it for corners, etc.

Depends on who you go with. One who does it on a day bases and one who does to earn money. Ohh and by the way the Ex is learning the trade to from some who EARN a living from it lol. Just saying. My repetion is out there so anything I say on here isnt Squat.

A fool and his money are soon parted. That's about 1 day job. Anything over $200 is wasting money. Go pick up some Mexicans at Home Depot and you could probably get it done faster for about $300 and half a day.
