pretty typical of a lot of operators though...think nobody else makes shite in the plant

Whoever y'all are talking to seeks too much validation from their job. Please do not think an entire group of people thinks this way. In my plant engineers are not paid well at all unless they go into upper management most don't want this so they leave. For me the juice is not worth the squeeze in upper management in a plant. I wouldn't want to be responsible for 40 peoples decisions and when you are "off" you are never really off. If there is a big upset you are going to be in the control room too. I left management in the oil field, came to the plant and never want to be responsible for another humans thought process or actions again.

I'm not bragging or glamorizing the job. It's just a job.

in the grand scheme...200k is a lot, period compared to the norm. its not if you have high expectations but its pretty damn good.

i get you dont mind working it. my father was same way, as was I when i was younger, found a better way imo.

and yes you werent really bragging but a lot in here were.

Yea I mean I'm 34 life happens and shite changes. I might say frick this shite next year who knows. For me it's and easy job to get and keep with a fast track to frick you money. If I retire from a plant I have failed I have other plans in the grand scheme.
