Because they’re too long. I don’t like 1980s short shorts, but I want them hitting above my knees.

To answer the OP I own zero cargo shorts or pants.

All I own are cargo shorts, all hit above the knees, none of them have the extra large pockets, but I use the pockets almost every time I wear them. A couple pairs feel way to short and I rarely wear them (at least six inches of thigh showing standing up).

a proper cargo short is standard equipment for a live show or music festival…wallet, keys, weed, shrooms, lighter and pipe all stowed away comfortably and keeps you hands free and ready to get down.

try that in a small town

I own two, and wear them. If nothing else, I like the utility of having pockets for my phone and wallet. I really don’t like wearing pants in the summer, too damn hot.

I honestly didn’t know that cargos were uncool, but I’m 53 and more into comfort then style. On second thought, I’ve never been stylish. I was still wearing jorts in the early 2000s lol

If I make it to 75, I’ll have zero concern of what others think. At 53, I’m damn near to that point
