My SO has some hearing loss in one ear and tinnitus since he was an infant. He's had hearing tests and hearing aids have been recommended, but he's reluctant to do it.

To me, the coolest thing about the hearing aids he tried out is the ambient noise setting that pretty much cancelled out his tinnitus.

My Spectactular Optometrist. I was telling you a story about my eye doc.

Morbid, seriously check them out... it's crazy how tiny some are and you can change settings with an app on your phone! I would get them if it was me.

My wife gets pissed at me...

If there's any background noise, that's where the problem is...

I've been to an ENT, and did a hearing test. He said I definitely have a certain percentage of a hearing loss...

and any loud noise, the tinnitus kicks in, it's really annoying...

this is where it started for me. i noticed a huge increase in sensitivity to noise that continued for a while. now the noise doesn't really bother me as much but, i can't hear shite.

My mom has been to two different audiologists and their tests say she has minimal hearing loss in her mid-60s. That is definitely not the case as anyone who spends 20 minutes with her will realize she has terrible hearing.

FWIW she has 15+ ear infections after turning 35 and has tubes in her ears 5 times as well as a major ear surgery at Tulane.
