They are aggressive. They’ll attack your pets in front of you. And if they kill them, drag them/run off with them.

You're rarely going to see more than 3 - and the alpha will likely make the first big move - if you're patient, you kill or seriously injure the alpha, hold your own against the others and they'll break off.
Of course, that's stupidly easy for me to say in my robe, in my comfortable house at my computer.
Way, way different than "in real life" - but I've got a plan.

The ones I've seen were surprisingly small. I'd say at least 4 or 5.

6 easy
You just have to be the aggressor when it comes time to confront them. They react when you go at them and they recoil. You only need to be able to grab one at a time. Doesn't take long to snap a neck or break a limb or just slam one to the ground. One good slam and it's not coming back for more. Take them out one by one. If you have really heavy duty clothing you could more than 6 for sure. Using the knife would take too long. A 35lb animal like that is not hard to control.
