It's $2,280 for 38k miles at 50 mpg.
Correct

Very reasonable for that year. 20 mpg difference is just over $1,500 savings per year. Just over 3 years to "recoup". Right, not 2. But the point stands. Is that not viable? Reasonable?

Well. It's MILDLY reasonable IF you compare it to the worst mileage cars in the prius category.

Of course, if mileage is important to you, then that would be an odd comparison. One would assume you should compare it to the BEST mileage cars in the prius category. There are multiple cars that do better than 30mpg.

And, several of them are SUBSTANTIALLY more than $5K cheaper.

But year. Using the most advantageous comparison for the Prius possible, it manages to recoup in over 3 years.

It's a 2010 car bought in 2012. 2010 Vehicles in it's range maxed out at 32-35 mpg. I thought 30 was reasonable.

Not true. I looked. Used 2 years. Under 40k miles. We're talking just $10k here. While my prius doesn't have very bell and whistle, it does have some "perks" that are above standard.

ETA: Just did a Kelly Blue Book on a used 2014 (2 years old)Honda Civic. HX. 38k miles. Good condition. $12k PP value; $15k from dealer.

I'm in IT,CAD. I'm always on a PC. And yes. That number is correct. I help my father in law work on cars and I got from him to keep a log of my fill-ups/oil changes/tire changes/etc. Because we do it all ourselves.

your mileage also = the number of posts you've made in the last 3 years.

I feel that Prius owners look at me with absolute disdain when they pull up next to my F250 at red lights. Something about that makes me smile

Umm, why should I care what you drive? I really don't. Many people have that "I'm the center of attention" mentality these days. Must be all the social media they take part in. Maybe you can snapchat the peoples' reactions and blog about it.

I post an insane amount during baseball season. And a little less insane the rest of the year.
