HOAs are fine if the majority of the board doesn't become unreasonable. We have ONE guy on ours that is out of the box. If he had his way I'd burn my place down and live in a ditch.

Of course I donate the recommended amount because that money goes to paying the police so we always get top priority with any of our calls and extra patrolling with the signs that says that.

It seems the agreement has went through a bunch of revisions since the first one. I read the new one last week. There is still restrictions for lake side backyards. But some have been lifted. There was restrictions on above ground pools, planting below property line around lake and painting the bricks on your house. All of that is gone. Probably cause they are too spineless to enforce

I’ve been waiting over 4 weeks for my city government to approve a fence

"the new one"
do they hand this out? Or is this a copy that is recorded at the Clerk of Court's office? The recorded copy is the one you want to go by.

If it's a new neighborhood the HOA contracts are pretty harsh and binding. Fighting them is expensive.

I haven't seen one improvement since they took over except bitch at people cause they can see boats that are not behind fences
Sounds like a normal property management company.

The backyard that nobody else will see?.
My brother's back yard ends at a pond about 100 yards wide. His boys dug a hole about 6 feet wide. and could not be seen due to a privacy fence.
He told me the neighborhood vigilante heard his boys telling some of his friends about it. He received a letter giving him 10 days to fill in any holes in his yard,

Run for president of the HOA. That way you have the power to screw with all the lemmings. If you run and don’t win the election just show up at the guys door a few days after the election and show him some papers with a bunch of signatures on them and simply tell him he is no longer the HOA president. Fun times.

I would have to see what was actually recorded at the courthouse. I'm not saying anyone should get into a pissing contest with these people, but it's good to let them know you aren't ignorant.

put a trump sign in you're yard. HOA Karen will be there in a hurry.

We laugh about what an HOA might look like here on the bayou. Its chock full of snakes and reptiles around her so we feel we have lots of good candidates for the bayou HOA board.
We sincerely feel that snakes and alligators are more intelligent, less power hungry and less slimy than standard HOA officers. ALso, zero humans here would want the job or the human HOA person in the neighborhood.
We have accepted our reptilian HOA overlords and welcome them
