David Goggins’ response:

quote:

I’ve been attacked by a few people for being friends with @joerogan as of late. Funny, you must have mistaken me for someone who actually gives a frick about your opinion!

First, do I think Joe Rogan is racist? No. Was Joe wrong for saying ****? Yes.

When I was growing up & even in my later years, I was called **** more times than I can count. It was never the “N-word” it was ****. That said, I know racist motherfrickers & can vouch for Joe.

The fricked up thing about all of this is that all eyes aren’t on Joe because of his use of the “N-word” rather for his views on other matters. They are using race, which is a real, emotionally-charged, divisive subject as a smokescreen for the real issue & that is what pisses me off.

If you have an issue with someone, let that issue be the issue. Don’t hide it behind something else. These podcasts have been around for years & no one has said shite about them until now because Joe’s voice doesn’t fit some agenda.

If you don’t walk lock step with whatever the frick is going on & don’t agree with it, you risk someone going into the archives of your life & finding whatever dirt they can & exploiting you.

We are slowly being walked down a path where we lose our voice. We don’t all need to agree with one another but we have to respect the fact that people should be able to say whatever the frick they want to say- otherwise known as freedom of speech. Whether you listen or not should be your choice. I remain completely independent with no sponsors or partnerships so I don’t ever have to issue an apology for who the frick I am or what the frick I say.

What the hidden message here to me is the fact that people in positions of power don’t believe we are smart enough to be able to hear different opinions or capable of making our own decisions.

All you judging motherfrickers, take some time to think about what would happen to you if all of the skeletons in your closet were put on display for everyone around you to see? Perhaps you want to think again before rushing to judgment!

It’s important in life, whether people like it or not, for you to be who the frick you are and say what you want to say 100% of the time!

Well Biden used it several times, so there's that.

The more troubling thing for Joe in all of this is the Planet of the Ape joke. There really is no defending himself there, it was 100% a racist thing to say and is very problematic.

Comedians make jokes about racial stereotypes ALL THE TIME. The only thing “problematic” (stop using this word) is that certain people only care if certain races are the butt of the joke.

Rogan would likely have to go radio silent for 1-3 years if they cancelled him, at least without compromising his buy-out.

$100mm was a steal to buy the podcast. If there were more nefarious plans to use the show as a pawn to further divide the masses, bravo.

That said, he’d make a killing going on tour, or even using this as a pivot to open his new club would be genius.

As long as a word is used in popular music, it is acceptable for use by anyone.

I won't use such language, but I won't be faulting anyone else for it.

The whole “n-word” thing, by my ken, simply comes from a change in the pronunciation of negro

My theory is that there was just a lingual shift, and people hearing it adopted a new word, which by the by became a slur
I once saw Dick Cavett, a card-carrying liberal but possessing at least an iota of integrity, talk about how the MSM covered George Wallace during the schoolhouse door episode.

Wallace would talk about "negroes" but in his Southern accent, the word came out as "n***a". But the media invariably would report that he had said "n****r".
