Normally I’d be in agreement but not when people are unemployed at the fault of the government
How about we get rid of the government instead ?

This isn't really an easy fix given that the $600 per week is a federal thing

John Doe should lie because no one is ever going to check it with this many people anyways.
Might as well get your tax dollars back. You know Ladasha and Tyquan are pulling from it and they never paid a dime in.
frick it. Lie.

Is this correct? The $600 is completely separate from state benefits and applies to anyone who lost work or has reduced hours.
Yes. But in Louisiana in order to get the $600 you must be eligible for at least $1 of state benefits. Meaning if you made more than $247 in the week as a W2 employee, or $107 as a self-employed person...you get $0.00

Just the way it is. You're actually penalizing yourself by working much, though it benefits you to work a few hours.
Always ask what your excess earning amount is.
Honest hard working people are being screwed.

Why did you cut off "then they lose their unemployment benefits for turning down gainful employment"?
Because the burden of that proof is on the employer and from what I’ve heard anecdotally is that unemployment services are not perusing these cases right now.
