Lemme ask ya this:
Can he run a mile and a half in 15 minutes?
That's what it takes to make it with LDWF.
Good luck Usain Bolt.
My family has worked for the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries my entire life. I have met countless agents over the years.
The timed run you referenced comprises only a small component of the fitness evaluation.
LDWF agents are in no way shape or form comparable to other law enforcement officers. It's like comparing the Army to the Marines.
The physical, psychological, background, fitness, and survival assessments are on a whole another level. These guys are some bad motherfrickers.
In short, you're out of your element, BRgetthenet.

Tell him that beside what some might think, he doesn't freely just get to go out and shoot black people legally.

I guess you're the expert then.
I was joking, anyway. I know that run is just to make it into boot. I have a friend that's an agent. He works hard, and is a good guy. I'm not knocking LDWF.

There's really only one rule: If you can only see teeth at night then don't shoot. Gas stations will be burned within 24 hours.

Yall should do some research before you down vote me. See what the lsp academy is about. It's a live in academy that is run just like a military academy. It's is significantly more challenging than a typical post academy.

He survives running through the course with the donut rings then its gravy after that.

My brother said the hardest part was shooting all those dogs.

My first job out of college was working at a police academy. If you can't pass the knowledge part then you are just plain dumb.
The physical training was a problem for some, but it's not too bad.

Hardest part is getting in. The classroom stuff is more difficult than the physical.

Let me expand on the physical part of it.
It's not difficult per say. They don't expect a 60 year old to have the same results as a 22 year old. In my experience, the only people who couldn't hack it physically were the ones who didn't like the idea of running laps every other afternoon.
Classroom work depended on the teacher. They come from a wide variety of agencies and rank. Depending on the class, you will have everyone from a deputy to an ADA teaching. There was one university detective that was an absolute prick and an ADA that was even worse that tried to make it harder than it is. But the test are pretty standard and simple so it doesn't matter the teacher very much.
Now I can't speak on if it's like this everywhere, but where I worked covered the entire I-20 corridor in N. LA.

Once you're in, the firearms range is a blast
