Just hook up a window unit. I have a 15000 BTU in my garage.

hvac units are designed to fit the space you are using them in, they dont have "extra" capacity to "just add a room"
can you just add more vents and feel some cool air? yes, but your system will work its arse off to barely do the job and come august your whole house wont cool properly and at some point the compressor will fail from overheating.
get a larger system or just add a separate cooling system just for the extra room
People downvoting this guy but he's right. I came here just to say this exact same thing.
Best thing to do is take the other posters advice and use a mini split
