I got a script at 24 which was about 3 years ago. Scheduled an appt with a Psyc, she sent me for an EKG then reviewed it and started on 5 mg twice daily tapering up to 10 mg twice daily over the course of I think a month. In my initial visit I was just honest; told her I had issues focusing at work, issues starting multiple projects at home and never finishing them, and that my wife was bitching that I could never relax with her and watch an entire movie without getting up and doing some random task I felt I needed to do.

I’m now 3 or so years later and take 30mg twice daily, sometimes I split my second dose instead of the full. It was a massive life changing improvement, but honestly I regret starting medication. The days I don’t take it I function okay but feel “off”. Like I can’t find interest or satisfaction in what I’m doing. Honestly, I’d recommend non-medication options if that’s an option.

Finding one to give you repeated scrips without any sort of testing/prior doctor referrals is going to be much harder considering the recent crackdown on narcotic

It's a highly regulated ADHD medication.
Your symptoms need to be descriptive of an ADHD patient - and have nothing to do with your energy level.
- distracted easily
- trouble completing task
- loss of focus
They will likely schedule a ADHD test thats done on a computer in his office. For example: The program will flash an apple on the screen, when this happens, you're instructed to hit the "R' key...a bananna, you hit the 'L" key...and so on. Its about a 45 min test designed to be boring and cause you to lose focus. An ADHD patient would probably start off decent, but progressively select more wrong answers as the test moves along.

its amphetamines, it's close chemical wise to methamphetamines

No, it isn’t. I’ve never seen a single person on Adderall with missing teeth, bad skin, and aged 50 years

100% absolutely it is very close chemically to meth.
Any doc or pharmacist can easily confirm this too.
A similar comparison would be comparing "sunlight" to "sunshine". They are practically identical.

Adderall did NOT agree with me when I took it, and reading that makes my heart race and hands sweat. I was only on 10mg once daily, and sometimes it made me feel insane.

I guess I should have told the doc Ritalin had a similar affect on me when I was a kid and prescribed it.

I just deal with my ADD now. I tried concerta as well, but it was like $80 a month on my insurance so I only tried it for a couple of months. Gave me dizzy spells.

I take meds for depression that cause me a severe lack of energy so my doctor prescribed adderall to supplement them. It works too.
