I saw a blue one in front of Van Trow a couple weeks ago. I’d buy one for the hell of it.

Not anymore douchey than an LED light bar that people feel the need to use on a road with street lights.

you know they help with dust too? It's a raised air intake. I don't do desert, other than high plains desert, but if I did or I was building an overlanding rig, I'd have one.

I saw a tacoma with one yesterday and said the same thing to my GF. It was completely stock except a snorkel and a brushguard on the front.

a legitimate cold air intake

I have the banks ram air intake with the super scoop on my truck, WAY less conspicuous than that thing.

Take it how you want.
I'm just saying that if cold air intake is your goal there are better options suited to that purpose.
enjoy that raptor.

Your truck will be filled with water in the cab when the snorkel is necessary. I'd bet something in the electronics is likely to short out too. Old Jeeps and things like that are the only things it makes sense on unless there's lots of other stuff being done to the vehicle as well.

Wouldn't a good air filter do the same thing?

i wasnt talking about you specially, jus the thread as a whole. you were the last post. who cares about cold air. there are purposes for a snorkel and who cares if people dont use it for how it is intended.

My Raptor was designed to run the Baja. Im not rushing out to race desert marathons. the fagots here bitching that drive F150's haul their kids around, they are using their trucks to the extend to what they are designed for.

I just enjoy calling out people for being pretentious.

not it wouldnt..... it moves the intake higher where less dust is therefor less dust is picked up by the filter.

I went through water up to my windows several times in both of my Tacomas. It would've been a little more comforting to have one, but I never got one

As long as you keep moving, there is a wave in front of the truck. Your brush guard, grill, and radiator keep the water lower in the engine compartment

Water came in the windows here, but I drove this home. And yes, it floated. Only problem was my alarm module beeping

Water up to the top of the seats. I actually drove through it once, decided not to do it again, water from the river kept coming up, and had to float it back through. If I had a snorkel, I wouldn't have stayed the night, and I could've left

Bumping this thread to say I agree with you, and I’d love a Raptor too just to commute to work. Just didn’t want to pay for it but if you want, I’ll trade you a Tundra for it.

In theory, you’re pulling in cleaner air with a snorkel.
