I thought Google wallet just let you buy stuff from the Play store, no?

nope.
Near Field Communication (NFC) you should just put your phone next to the antenna and press pay. Ive never done it but thats how you do it.

Go into google wallet should have a tap to pay option. Have wallet open and put the back of the phone onto the NFC reader. Touch for a second and should vibrate or make a sound and charge your wallet.

ok i had the app open and i did that. now i dont if i actually touched the phone to the reader or just held it close.
but i just noticed they have a step by step in google wallet
1. wake up device(app does not have to be launched)
2. tap back of device to the terminal
3. select credit
4. enter wallet pin if prompted
ill give it a try again next time i need some deodorant

Took me a few tries my first time using it because I didn't touch the phone to the device. Pretty neat though

I don't understand why anyone would do this if you can just swipe your card and tell Katoya to have a nice day.

well for starters you would not need to have your credit card on you. granted only like 1% of stores offer the pay pass right now. its definitely in its infancy but i could see it being pretty useful someday.

I've noticed some places allow you to pay via PayPal, too. But then I don't know why when I could swipe my card.
It's all magic anyway.

absolutely. I think it will be very useful, and make things like that "Coin" card obsolete.

yeah i watched the coin card video. kinda neat but im not about to pay $50-$100 for it.
