With brand names just go to the company or at least the country of the company. Nike is two syllables.

For Adidas go to the Germans they put the emphasis on the first syllable we put it on the penultimate syllable and the first syllable has a different A sound I am too lazy to look up the name of but the German sounds more like the sound you make at the Dr when you stick out your tongue.


Many foreign companies just give up on and accept how we pronounce things and just go with it in their US subsidiary and marketing. Adidas, Bayer, and Hyundai are three examples. The ones that usually do not are luxury brands where often they will even correct customers. Some of the ones butchered:

Van Cleef & Arpels
Hermes
Loewe
Givenchy
Versace
Miele
Porsche
Cartier
Goyard
Longchamp

Many people positively slaughter lots of Swiss watch names and the foresight of Wilsdorf, key founder of Rolex, was amazing in he made up a name* with one of the specific requirements be it is easy to pronounce in any language.
