How do we feel about our Womenfolk being Speech Pathologists? NSFW.

Four years undergrad and two years of graduate school with an average income somewhere around 75k and with a little overtime 100k. LINK Helping children and old people learn to speak correctly, working in schools and nursing homes, etc. Has the OT Employment Board made a ruling on this profession? Some pics for your trouble.

To your question, SLP's play a vital role in helping those oral motor problems and impairments with swallowing associated with illness. L refers to language, and they help with cognitive disorders as well.

One of my twins had what they call hesitation speech pattern. Its similar to a stutter.
I had just started making good money so I was committed to spend whatever necessary to fix it.
While I was gearing up to throw money at it he spent three weeks wit the school system speech therapist and she completely "fixed" the issue. Perfectly normal speech pattern in three weeks.
I'm a fan.

SLP is a difficult program to get into, and even harder to complete and pass boards. Anybody that completes it deserves that pay, it's an important career.

My wife is one and has been self employed for 18 years. She contracts with the school and works at a nursing home in the summer.
