Really? I've dealt with a few AC guys over the years and they all know about zones and such. I replaced both my AC units one year ago and we discussed all the concepts. He is a guy and I trust. I am not convinced I'll live here for the long haul so I wasn't ready for a major overhaul. Even in Houston my AC costs are not unreasonable with just a regular, non variable, non two stage, etc and other thhings they will sell. Sure some offered 20k+ for all the bells and whistles but my guy just put in some more modern units, top to bottom, no duct work and it was 14K complete. Not bad for a 4 ton and 5 ton unit.
