This is exactly what I meant. Whether it's perception or just being filled internally, most of the online positions open aren't really open. That's all I meant.

At LSU so take a guess....
However I'm looking to go into oil and gas, have some connections through family. Considering doing the litigation side that goes with oil and gas land management.

I graduated college with a low GPA and no experience, which was 100 percent my fault for having issues and not dealing with them.
I decided to take the civil service exam, slaughtered it, and applied at multiple positions. I was extremely lucky and landed in a spot that allowed me to use my creativity to design new auditing procedures and test different accounting theories and practices while still having enough work to rest my brain every now and then. Some of those worked out, I was promoted a year after I was hired, and now I'm studying for my CPA. I honestly don't know what I'll do after that.

I've had 4 jobs since college, interviewing for another now. Companies have web sites...
First one I got through a climbing buddy. That guy really helped me out, though he got a nice bonus after my first year.
Wife's mom probably helped me get my next one, but you never know.
Transfer.
I had interviewed for a position with the company I'm with now but it wasn't a right fit. They called me when the right job came up.
Next one, hopefully, just applied through their site.

I had an "in" due to an internship in undergrad. Worked with that "in" for about half a year, then transferred to another department. Been in this department for 3 years.

First job I made 38K out of college. I was hired because I wore a suit to the interview. No kidding.
Apparently other students were showing up in khaki pants. My boss appreciated the effort.
