How bad is traffic on I55 going towards New Orleans

Compared to the causeway. I would be going around 730 or 8 am. Don't go that way often but figured it will take a good minute at the time I am going.

The reason I ask is because the GPS says it's about the same time wise both ways. I don't think it takes into account traffic. So either way I can go.

At that time of the morning you should do well with 55. The real problem you have to worry about is if there is a wreck on the Bonnet Carre. Keep your Waze running as you get close to the 55/10 interchange and be ready to get off at LaPlace and take Hwy 61 in the rest of the way, just in case.

Traffic getting off the Causeway and merging onto I10 will be hellacious. Same with coming from I55 and merging onto I10 once in Kenner. You just have to pick your poision. If it was me and didn't mind paying the toll, I would chose Causeway b/c at the point where you get off the Causeway and merge onto I10, you'll be 1/2 to 3/4 pass most of the traffic.
