Disagree, I recently went to Red Rocks to see a concert and could barely sit there

not so fast. Alcohol is terrible for you at high, regular doses. Cannabis is not even in the same ballpark, frankly.
Im sorry. I just do not believe that inhaling something into your lungs like that is not bad for you
I just dont

No. You wouldn't even know if I was smoking in public unless I wanted you to.

Should be the same regulation as cigarettes.

Not to hijack the legalize pot thread....but is there a best time to beat the traffic heading from Portage Bay to the Cannon Beach area tomorrow? Would leaving a 6AM beat the morning traffic on I-5 south or better to wait till 9AM....or does it matter? Clocks at 5 hours on Google maps.

Smoke in lungs is not good for you, but that's a personal decision someone makes about themselves. Not a basis for legalization
You know many people consume MJ in other ways besides smoking

Totally cool with legalizing it for medical uses, in any form but smoking.

Where on I5 are you getting off?
The traffic flows north once you get past downtown Seattle in my experience but it's been many years.

I agree with you. I never used it as a negative for legalization. I clearly stated that my only reason for no wanting it legalized is because I am not a smoker and do not want to be inconvenienced by the smell all the time.
If people want to drink or smoke or do drugs, thats their choice. I choose not to but how you kill yourself is not my choice. It is yours.
The "is it bad for you" discussion was a side discussion. I know there are certain things that it has been proven to help with medically but overall, I can't believe it is not bad for you. All based on a guess and no medical knowledge by me at all

So that exact regulation will make you happy? Lol
Besides the obviously tremendous number of people that will tie up the health system trying to get a script for it... why is it so bad if someone wants to enjoy it for personal use in their house?
Would you like it if people told you, you could only consume alcohol for medical reasons and put some odd stipulation like you can't have anything past a 10% alcohol content?

Agree which people pay no attention to. I am sitting on the beach this week in Mexico and everywhere I step, I am standing on cigarette butts. fricking nasty and a lot of smokers DGAF so that is enough reason for me not to want any kind of smoking

Smoking is definitely not great for you, but that's not the only way to use cannabis. Vaporizers, edibles, chewing gum, chapstick, oil droplets under the tongue, etc.

I don't smoke it and wouldn't want to smell it either, but I'd only advocate for it to be regulated just like cigarettes, because of 2nd hand smoke.
That's the only logical basis behind it and I wouldn't call for extra regulation just because I personally didn't like the smell.

Wait until 9am. Leaving at 6am will have you passing through Portland around 9am.
eta-unless you're splitting in Olympia and taking 101 down

I hardly drink at all. It wouldn't bother me. I just want to stick it to all the a-hole who scream about legalizing, when all they really want is to smoke weed legally.

Yeah, I'd probably take 101 anyways. Better drive.

True but this thread was "How bad do you really want Pot legal".
My answer was zero and my reason was the smell .
Personally, I have never understood why anyone would want to smoke anything. But that is just a personal thing to me. If you want to, fine. Im not going to do it.
But as for the legalization, I don't know what info to believe any more. I have always read that it was very bad for you. Now the advocates are saying otherwise. I know its good for certain medical conditions but so are other harmful substances.
IT just seems like another substance that would be put in our society legally that would allow people to get high all the time and try to function around others. With all the ways it could be consumed, people would be high as shite at work and it seems it would be just another major issue that our society would have do deal with
Just so some people could get high. Doesn't make sense

You do get the point, right? Legislation should never be made for someone's personal preference.
And yes, most people who want legalization DO want to consume it legally.
They aren't assholes either, more people use it than you realize.
There is absolutely no good reason someone shouldn't be able to use it recreationally in their home.

You know the same arguments were made during alcohol prohibition?
Alcohol is legal, yet you don't see everyone walking around drunk all day.
People are just so used to being told it's "bad" and used to it being illegal that they have a hard time grasping it being legal.
You go to a legal state and don't notice any difference in society functioning normally.
