Hyper inflation will be the reason, like with every centrally managed economy.

Fiat was always doomed when people realized responsible policies wouldn’t yield votes so we could just poof more money into existence and because we are the big bad USA it’ll all just work out

We’ve been lucky that the Fed for the most part has had a handle on inflation even with irresponsible fiscal policy, but that luck is going to be running out shortly. When almost one out of every four dollars in circulation is created in the last 365 days and we have a significantly higher amount of debt than our entire GDP, the dollar ain’t looking so hot.

It may be volatile but anyone not investing at least somewhat into a cryptocurrency portfolio is doing themselves a long term disservice.

I'm going to push back on this.

The Chinese do not want a weak dollar. Why would they? They depend on us buying their shite.

Their best play is for the dollar to be steady and then to artificially link their money to ours.

People keep saying this even with the massive influx of money into our economy since 2008, yet inflation has been 1-3% at most. I’m interested as to when the magic bottle opens because banks are just sitting on those reserves.

Are you saying we can continue spending like we are spending and never counter terrible inflation? You're wrong.

There is no peaceful land, so if you can buy some now, you can make bank when the dollar falls.

Unless you’re fashioning silver bullets, the answer is ammo, lots and lots of ammo.

Ok. Where has the terrible inflation been over the last 12 years? There’s been a massive injection of money and government spending over that time, yet inflation has been around the 1-3% mark. We are probably on the flat part of the aggregate supply curve right now, so increased spending won’t affect prices all that much. When it really heats up, the Fed just sells back treasuries, raises IOER, etc to keep inflation tame.

We aren’t some centralized country like Venezuela who rely on a chief commodity to prop up the economy, and when it collapses we have nothing to fall back on so we print our way out of it.
