It is a big business and hugely competitive.
Trump's 757 recently rolled out of Landlocked Aviation Services at the Lake Charles Chenault facility.

I’ve done some work at Aviation Exteriors (in the Berry) and saw some beautiful plane paint jobs. Saw first hand the Presidential planes and a Saudi Prince plane that was finished in 24kt gold leaf designs

On Boeing tour they mentioned American not painting and saving money due to weight reduction

Just a FWIW, several chemical plants along the petrochem corridor between BR and Nola supply key ingredients for auto and aircraft paint industry.

This news is good news for South Louisiana.
