I’ve done some work at Aviation Exteriors (in the Berry) and saw some beautiful plane paint jobs. Saw first hand the Presidential planes and a Saudi Prince plane that was finished in 24kt gold leaf designs

On Boeing tour they mentioned American not painting and saving money due to weight reduction

Just a FWIW, several chemical plants along the petrochem corridor between BR and Nola supply key ingredients for auto and aircraft paint industry.
