She comes every other week, so she rotates between the base boards and the molding each visit.
And everything else, yes, she does each visit. Pretty standard for anyone using a cleaning service. She's impeccably meticulous. Old school in the way she cleans, it's done right.
ETA: spent an hour cleaning this morning before she arrived. Nothing better than coming home to a clean house on a Friday afternoon.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

But, here is my question for this board. My wife and mother in-law spent a few hours yesterday "cleaning up" for the cleaning lady. The house was not that bad.
Very normal. They shouldn't be dusting and shite for the cleaning lady, but do you really want your cleaning person wasting time folding laundry that's on the floor and shite like that? Because they will if you leave it out. If you at least pick up, they will do the deep cleaning stuff you don't want to do.

When we first met her she told us to clean our home before she arrived. Because if she has to waste time folding and cleaning up toys for 30-45 minutes, that takes away from the work she could be doing in the hard stuff. That's when I knew she was the one. And when I saw her remove all furniture from my living room and bring the 9x12 rug outside so she could scrub the floors with rags. Lol. Some cultures don't believe in using mops bc they think they're filthy, apparently.

Does this pre-cleaning before hired cleaning makes sense to you?
Not me.
I felt the same way at first when we hired our. You'll get use to the pre-clean and addicted to the cleaning lady.
The cleaning lady is there to clean toilets, blinds, all surfaces, etc... Not pick up your dirty underwear, sort the mail, put kids toys away, etc...

At one of the houses I lived in during college, my landlord said he was going to pay a cleaning person $X and they'll just clean everything they can in that time period. Ok - fair enough. I assume .. this woman knows she is cleaning for new tenants, so she'll clean bathtubs, toilets, sinks, walls/floors, etc.
Nope. She spent 80% of the time cleaning out the oven. Two days later, one of the burners is out on the gas range, and my landlord buys an entire new oven/range anyway.
So I had to clean an entire house from "scratch" even though a cleaning lady spent several hours in there.. because she was so focused on this oven that she said was so bad.

They're there to clean your house, not pick up your shite.

yeah, it makes sense depending upon the circumstance.

My wife does this and it drives me INSANE. But it's mostly just picking up our kids crap and putting it in bins. I don't argue much because she still gives me the secks (wife, not cleaning lady).
