Whoa never thought about that, great advice. Do you know what the costs of insurance would be? ballpark..
I think we paid like $130(for both of us) for travel insurance while we were in CR. We were going to be doing a lot of activities with the potential for us to be injured so I wanted us covered in case we needed medical attention while there. The policy I got covered trip cancellation, if luggage was lost, trip delay, evacuation for a number of reasons, medical care, etc, etc.
Thankfully we didn't need to use it but I was glad we got it. Not like your health insurance here in the states will cover you overseas(better check into that before you leave).

I'm sure your wife related to that one more than you though. Most women are a little down after the wedding cause all the planning and everything...and it's finally over. Bet it gave her something else to get in planning mode for the next few months.
I could see that, cause I suggested it. I'm gonna skip having a Summer vaca, so by that time I won't want to wait any longer. I'll then take vaca around Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I/we can be back loaded the last quarter of the year with time off

For my wedding I urged all my guests that were flying to buy travel insurance since the wedding was in Florida in October.
My MIL got violently ill on the flight to Florida(really bad motion sickness); was wheeled off the plane in Houston(their layover) by medics and they almost didn't make it to the wedding(they literally arrived in Florida couple hours before the ceremony). They had bought trip insurance (cause I suggested it) and once they submitted all the needed paperwork(which they said was kinda a pain to obtain..esp from the airline)...they were reimbursed for expenses during the trip(her going to a dr out of network in Houston where they were stranded for 2 days due to her being too ill to fly, hotel stays, etc).
One of those things you hope you never have to use but will save your arse if you do need it.

Some resorts have packages, and you could probably save money and by the trip insurance.
Not sure if they still even have travel agents.

Yeah I never planned on getting a travel agent, just hadn't thought about the insurance before. I see the threads about vaca spots, so I figured I'd call it out

they still have travel agents....used one for my honeymoon and trip to playa
They are great because you can book the trip now by just paying a deposit and pay the balance closer to the trip.

Couples Tower Island in Jamaica, coat me 3200 for five days and five nights. Absolutely the best decision I've ever made!
