Home security question re cams

I’d like to put up 3 or 4 cams outside with a tech suite compatible with iOS with mobile access.
I come to the OT only because my Amazon searches seem to be ambiguous re the need for wired power.
Can I get into something for $500-$800 or so for this upfront that doesn’t involve the cams being wired in for power?
Not worried about the monthly.

Try tech board. Pretty helpful over there.
Since we’re on the OT...pics of your old lady?

Ring doorbell and add on cameras as you need them. Works great and records everything for $10/month. Everything is wireless with a battery that has to be changed maybe once a month at most.

Arlo Pro 2 works pretty well IMO. Had mine about 6 months and no issues.

Break it up.
Combine a few different systems for redundancy reasons.
Ring, the new Simpli Safe and a Flir system by Lorex are what I use on both properties ... although the city house is actually easier because of the Ring neighbors system which is brilliant.
Out here at the farm we have Ring on all the exterior doors and two of the spotlights on the detached garage and Lorex Flir strategically placed in eight spots around the main yard and the main driveway. The Simpli Safe covers the inside of both the house and garage and tiki bar.
I did it all for under two grand and my monthlies are under $50 bucks. $15 for the Simpli Safe, $10 for the Ring and $25 for the Lorex Flex ... that's if you want cloud backup and app access and alerts.

Most quality camera systems use power over Ethernet.
So you don’t have to run 120volt power to them.
They ether have a power supply that you plug in and then Ethernet cables run to the cameras from said power supply,or, the digital recorder acts as the power supply
If the former then each camera will have two cables
If the latter than each camera should only have one cable if I recall correctly.

I have Lorex cameras and can use my phone/iPad and a monitor to record and watch. Footage saves for 30 days.

Reolink is what you seek. I've got a system with 4K cameras and a DVR for 500 dollars. It's been flawless for 2 years.

Try this site. This is the brand I use at my house. Love it. One word of advice. If you go wireless, I would not get a 4 camera system. I would go 8. People have the technology to jam the signal for the 4 camera and disable them if they want to. It happened to my son-in-law when he was staying at a friends house that has the wireless 4 camera. They broke into his truck then left. Cameras came back on after they left.

I went with Blink XT. Put them in Friday.
Very happy with them so far.
The technical and physical set up was super easy.
No monthly fees and plenty of free cloud storage.
The app is great. It isn’t too heavy or too scant on options. It’s just right.
When a camera triggers, you get a push notification.
Image quality is good. Very wide capture and both live view and clips are zoomable without a significant degradation of image quality. Night vision is good.
Super easy arm/disarm. I’m only arming them at night and when everyone is gone.
Highly recommend so far.
