Just bought a new house, the previous owner has hops growing in the back yard. Was thinking of putting them to use

Do it or make friends with a brewer and give the hops to him in exchange for a few beers he makes with them.

There are also concord grapes, figs, blueberries and raspberries. I brought my Hungarian black peppers.

well, as much dope as I've grown in all my time I have never made my own beer. So, I'd like to take up the art as a hobby.

Ha. I was ahead of my time. I wallpapered my side of my dorm room in Power Hall with Schaefer Light fans in the 80’s. Used to buy that beer for $4 a 12 pack. Man was it nasty. We would put like salt in it to make it drinkable. I was poor back then.
