Buying a house (yay me), 1st order of business will be purchase and install of a camera system as well as a possible security system. Want 4k with color nighttime vision. What’s the go to, or recommendations? May get a Ring doorbell as well.

I’m fine with Custom Security but I’ve only been with them for a year for security and 6 months with cameras. We bought ours through them. Color and wired. App costs $5 a month. Security $38 a month. I have only 2 cameras. Cost to install and cameras and the console $1000. I’m going to get 2 more cameras installed next year.

Color night vision means the camera will have a small light on it lighting up the yard. Might still be what you want but just making you aware.

I use Ring for cameras no security system. Any ill-fated soul who broke in hear would meet a tough wake-up call I'm always home.

I have a full Lorex system that’s pretty badass. I can store about a weeks worth of video on the local DVR, access from my phone and I have a compete view of the house.

I use Eufy cameras and doorbell cam. No monthly fee, and it came with a drive that hooks up to our wifi and stores our videos. Found Eufy from a YouTube video comparison. My favorite part about Eufy is we aren't hooked up to any national network or anything like Ring or Amazon or Google or anything. It's all self-contained on our home network.

Any recordings you want to keep forever can be easily downloaded and saved from the drive on your phone from the app.

I love it. I don't know if it's 4k or whatever but we get great visuals and also can live feed the video from anywhere. The cams also came with lights I can turn on from the app and have great night vision. Can also talk through and camera and they all have sound detection.

ETA: We really felt like we were taking a chance when we went with Eufy, because it was cheaper, we'd never heard of Eufy before and still never hear anyone talk about that brand, but we could not be happier. It has exceeded my expectations.
