I had an existing top of line but old hard wired ADP security systems. I started having some issues with it a few years ago and was under contract so they were going to charge me $250-500 to fix it. )before even looking at it. I called bullshite on that, it was bad battery btw, and just let contract expire. I just have been going without an alarm system but have to get one know. I had two dogs and one was a vicious sob.

I already have a hardwired system with half a dozen motion detectors, wired in smoke detectors etc. I would prefer to us this and just add a few cameras.

I am in Mobile Alabama. What are my best options? any recommendations? I still have a dog but she is a wimp.

I agree 100%. I have been robbed a ton here, almost yearly but within last 6 months getting scary. Man followed my wife home from shopping tried to grab her in front of the house. She caught glimpse of him and laid on the horn.

Last night someone tried to break in twice. I live in one of nicest areas and neighborhoods (Springhill) in town and we have all been robbed over and over again. Getting out of control. No neighborhood watch because they think that sends wrong signal and dont want to put up the tacky signs.

That's nuts. I guess Tuthill is close enough for them to get out on SpringHill and back to Crichton.

My parents are in Midtown but have two big arse labs and 6 and 8 foot fence. Outside of a few car break ins over the years they've never had any problems.

I'm not putting up with negative safety issues, even if I had to downsize and/or commute further to get to a safer location.

Good luck, that situation would really unsettle me into moving, as in Eastern Shore?

My neighbor has a camera on the road and says he has cars cruising around between 1 am and 6 am every damn night now, and I am not a through street.

We moved here from a town on the coast with basically zero crime but for kids to go to St Pauls, but we are out of here as soon as they graduate.

He is not popular at St Pauls. I don't even know a single kid with a tattoo there. None of my children's friends think God.

Just get a GS or two. You'll be safe.

You mean that you were "burglarized" over and over again. Robbers, burglars, and thieves do not do the same thing to their victims--those words are not synonyms.

You don't need signs to have a neighborhood watch program, although the signs do send a message to the potential burglars (not that they are always scared off by the signs).
