Yikes.

I saw the subject line and figured it was about the Holy Fire at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

I live near the holy Jim fire

My neighborhood was not evacuated because the fires spread down the other side of the mountain (thousands of homes in that area have been evacuated)

It’s up to 41% contained but 23000 acres have been burned

My buddy who lives on other side of the mountains had his neighborhood saturated with fire retardant....the plane missed the flames and released the stuff too early

I hate to say this because I dont want to sound disrespectful to those that lost all, but I think Id rather lose my stuff and move away. Even if your stuff did not get destroyed by fire, does not mean that it will ever be how it once was.

I also cant imagine this fire. I lived out in California and have seen the glow from the distance of smaller fires. I also got delayed in coming back to Pendleton from Iraq in the 2007 Witch Fire

I’m Catholic.

Buy that doesn’t mean I’m a flaming liberal.

Regardless of his soccer and liberal views, I sure hope his house doesn’t burn.

Same was said by lots of people after Katrina. The better areas with insurance will likely come back all the way. The lower end areas with no insurance or landlords who bolt will be a shithole with an occasional rebuilt home here and there (living amongst the rubble and overgrown properties).

I bet! Anything like this is so devistating. I couldn't imagine Katrina, so heartbreaking.
