Proud to hear.

We love the chase and it can be worse than gambling

I went to the national 2 weeks ago - if you're looking for a big time ROI ripping wax isn't the way to go but it's more fun than just buying singles. the massive hits are few and far between when opening sealed boxes. I do both though
I know nothing about cards but I have a ton of sealed boxes from the 80s and early 90s for NBA, NFL, and MLB.
I also have some sealed Marvel cards and other misc.

Maybe wait till bowman draft comes out so you have a shot at skenes or crews. Usually released later in year.

Dude.
I know. I know.
I'm glad I pulled back. 1-2k a week in breaks was limit per week in 2022. Sometimes went over, I'm an addict and loved jumping in on breaks at work to pass time.
I've learned.
Ill still jump in sometimes. But really limited my ripping and breaks in 2023.

Are you going to the show in Mandeville or the one Markman is putting on?

Yea probably
The Marvel cards are on ebay for $200 plus per box. I have a few of them and 6 more of some that are around $100 per. I will get the sports cards out soon and see about getting rid of them.

The Mandeville one yes.
Planned to be at the one in Kenner today, but tied up in MS doing stuff for the GF.
You hit up the Dallas show every few months? That is pretty much my must go to show. I grab so much from that show.

Yes those marvel cards, which I know nothing about, look to sell well.
For the most part I only do FB, BB, Hockey and Pokemon.

86 fleer basketball boxes go for big money 50k or more if sealed and authenticate.
Jordan rookie drives it

lucky flea market find or an older relative's collection - you can hit on hobby boxes but it's hard to get to breakeven on most boxes. the nba rookies are super valuable in that first year but then the hype (card values) tumble. see Ja, Zion, LaMelo etc

Not to Dallas. My friend who has Downsouth Cards and Bats goes. I may bring some Hooters girls to Mandeville

I know I have like 10 of these NBA Hoops boxes from 1990
Looks like they are about $40 per box on eBay.
I will get it all out soon and sell it all

What are some decent hobby boxes right now for baseball & hoops?
Posted on 8/12/23 at 2:21 pm to Lester Earl
Prizm, optic, or select for basketball

For basketball and football Prizm is the standard, followed by Optic then Select (optic has better looking and "cooler" cards than select)
As far as baseball you gotta go Bowman Chrome or Draft (a Jackson Holliday draft card has a half million bounty on it right now)
There are more elite options, but we're talking thousands per pack of 6 cards
(Flawless, Immaculate, National Treasure)
