Well it took like 75 pages but y'all may have finally stumped me when it comes to armored fighting vehicles. I've never seen this thing before in my life.

Country should be easy. Name/type.

I've got this one sitting on a shelf at home. It's the Japanese Mitsubishi J2M Raiden. She was one of the few Jap aircraft that could actually get up high enough to engage the B-29's.

Well since I freely admitted that I didn't have a clue what that thing is, I checked to see what it is... And well all I'm going to say is I'll sit back and wait for someone else to answer what it is.

My Grandfather, who was a bombardier on a B-29, talked about them.

Can you tell me the allied code name for the Raiden?

since you read the thread and dislike it so. Are you the phantom downvoter?

Mad because one thread isn't about you?

Actually many of us like History. I guess on almost all of them. Most it seems I have been wrong. But it keeps me recalling things I studied in the past.

Ahhhh. I'll kick myself soon as you tell me but I can't remember what it is. I've always called it Raiden.

Don't worry about them. Here, try this one....

1. Name?
2. Country of origin?
3. What is this weapon famous for?

Thanks. He sometimes would tell stories, and told some doozies, too. Like the one where they were in the CBI before going to Tinian - he said one mission they came back with 408 holes in his A/C, with one crewman dead and two others injured.

Don't know the name. Isn't it French and known for having a lot of trouble?

I was going to post a Finnish plane, but the Glocester story was odd to me, British planes flying for the axis.

Read The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors* but be warned, you'll probably find the room gets dusty a few times. The men of Taffy 3 fought what was IMO the most heroic action in the history of the US Navy that day.

*Actually, read all of James Hornfischer's naval history works. He's fantastic.

Yeah, because there's no way people could have an interest in a topic to the point they recognized items in photographs.

For example, I've got well over 100 books on aviation and naval history and I've read most anything I can get my hands on about those topics since I was old enough to read (46 now). When other kids were drawing cars and trucks, I was drawing Vought Corsairs.
