Yes, they did. But according to the documentary I saw, you can only stay inside a certain distance without masks for a very short time, and no one is allowed inside the gates after dark.

They're Canadian and that's from the Dieppe Raid in August 1942....

HINT: They're not British and that's not D-Day.
Canadians or Australians, then.
Tank is Churchill - probably not Australians.
North Africa or Dieppe.
(ETA: Dammit Darth, if you'd give me a minute or two...)

That DID look like a maple leaf on the front of the tank.

Top picture is Panzer IIIs (German) - Poland was in late Summer, France was in early Summer - so Russia (41/42)?
I have a red "x" for the second one.
Third one - look German in their winter camo, but, really could be Russian, too.

Not sure why you're getting the red x. These were all taken from a site based on the Nazi invasion of Russia and the fighting on the Eastern front.

quick question.. how do I resize a picture so it doesn't take up like.. everything?
Posted on 7/8/14 at 3:09 pm to B1rdman15
Picture 1.
That's a Pz. Kk III so I'm going to say Eastern front sometime around late 1942 and early 1943.
Picture 2.
That's a Pz Mk. VI Tiger. The fact it's equipped with smoke grenade launchers tells me that picture is probably no earlier than late 1944. I believe that picture would be somewhere around eastern Poland perhaps?
Picture 3
That appears to be Soviet infantry during a city battle. Hard to tell any detail other than it's winder so I'll guess either Stalingrad or perhaps the battle of Kharkov

I can only see the first one. Work filters are blocking the other 2 for me.

I want that to be Hiroshima, but I don't think we could have gotten an overhead picture like that.
I'm aware the a-bomb was a much bigger explosion. Was thinking initial impact.
