Darth, let's get back tothose rifles.

HINT
They were WWII German K98k's.

I remember the picture you posted. You said you got them from an unusual place if I remember correctly and someone guessed you got them from Afghanistan but that was incorrect.

Am I remembering correctly?

Also, just so I'm clear, you're saying that the K98K's you've got were in fact produced in Germany, right?

Afghanistan is wrong.

Yes the K98k were produced in Germany.

In WWII.

When the war ended, the Soviet's took them and rebuilt them.

The country that the Soviets gave them to was Vietnam.

Gotcha. Yeah, the Soviet ended up with literally millions of these rifles. They supplied them to anyone and every guerrilla group around the globe who showed the slightest leftist leanings.

So how did you get your hands on these and how much you want for one of them?

My co worker has an FFL.

I had about 50 of them an about 20 Waffen SS ones.

I moved from Northern VA. To Waveland.

Katrina wiped out my collection and my house.

I lived 200 yards from the Waveland pier.

I believe he was the rear gunner on one of the Devastators that was shot down while attacking the Jap fleet.

Just to correct the record for the man, Ensign Gay was actually commissioned as a pilot in 1941 and was flying one of the TBD Devastators in Torpedo Squadron 8. He completed his torpedo run even though he was wounded in the hand and leg. After being shot down he was in the water for over 30 hrs before being rescued by a PBY. Only survivor of the 30 men in the squadron.

came across this. While not a war piece or a guessing game. It's both WW1 related and odd.

It is a French built recon plane used by the AEF but I can't remember the name.

It has a tail like a Neuiport but I don't think that's who made it.

I can't remember the short guy's name but the tall one is Charles Lindburgh. He actually flew a bunch of combat mission is WWII. He's known for being the first guy cross the Atlantic solo and his baby being kidnapped and murdered. He was also quite fond of Hitler early on and anti-war until the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor.
