What were the sack looking things some of these soldiers are wearing used for?
Why specialized type of soldiers were these?

Inflatables for crossing bodies of water?

Sabotage of enemy vehicles, specifically watercraft?

No. but not a bad guess. Those sacks are for extra hand grenades.

No again. These were known as Stormtroopers. They were specially trained and equipped German infantry who's role was to storm and overrun Allied trenches.

Okay. Here's one you'll know the answer to. Why were Americans better grenadiers?

That first word is throwing me off- My crappy Russian says "Dobrudzhantsti ready for attack" That first word looks a little like the Russian for volunteers, so is the writing not Russian but Bulgarian?
ETA: I figured it out, they are Bulgarians from the region known as Dobruja.

Yup. And any impact grenade that makes you throw it sidearm is just god awful in the trenches

Darth, I might have you.
Name the rifles, where they came from and who used them in what war.
I had about 40 of them. LINK

I'm not sure if the writing is Russian or Bulgarian as I don't speak either. If I had to guess, I'd say that it's Bulgarian seeing how they were allies of the Germans in WWI.

My work filter is blocking me from opening your link. The site is categorized as "weapons". Can you post a picture?
