Yeah I think y'all are right and those are Bulgarian stormtroopers. The uniforms and equipment are indistinguishable from German (because they were supplied by the Germans) but I think those are Bulgarian troopers.

One of the North African countries I'm guessing.

Part of the French foreign legion perhaps?

French Algeria?

Thanks!

Those look to be Mauser K98 "karabiner" (sp?). Anyway, it's the carbine version of the original Mauser K98. I'm not sure the one's pictured were made in Germany though. They were made in so many different countries that it's almost impossible to tell where they're made without seeing the manufacturing marks.

Nope. The aircraft in the picture is a French made Bleriot. But this one belongs to the Serbian army.

What army do the soldiers (and dogs) belong to?

(And yes, those dogs are pulling a machine gun on a little cart.)

Close Darth, very close.

I think what will stump you is where they were used after the war. Also, who had them.

Oh hell, the K98 is one of most widely produced and distributed rifles in the world. They could have been used anywhere from South or Central America, Africa, the Middle East, SE Asia, the Balkans. I don't think there's been a major conflict since the end of WWII that's not seen these rifles used. Hell, they're still being used.

I knew the Israelis used K98's but I've never heard of them converting them over to .308.

The K98k production exceeded the K98.

These were used in a World War.

Now, for who used them and what country captured them.

As for the country these rifles went to, good luck.

It wasn't too long ago.

They did.

Fine shooting rifles. They came from the same country that used them originally.
