Only somewhat related but have any of y'all ever done any reading on Hans Ulrich Rudel? I picked up a copy of his book, Stuka Pilot a few years ago and it was great. The total amount of stuff he destroyed was astonishing. It was over 2000 targets in all and I think even a Soviet battleship. Most of it was done from a Stuka but towards the end of the war he flew a ground attack variant of the FW-190. I don't think I could even come close to his kill tally even if I was allowed to use Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator
edited to add his official score per wikipedia. Absolutely incredible. He must've spent a lot of time in the air.

Rudel flew 2,530 combat missions claiming a total of 2,000 targets destroyed; including 800 vehicles, 519 tanks, 150 artillery pieces, 70 landing craft, nine aircraft, four armored trains, several bridges, a destroyer, two cruisers, and the Soviet battleship Marat

I know, right? He had his plane modified so that he could control that foot pedal with his hands. You know you're a big shot dive bomber when Stalin goes out of his way to put a bounty on your head.

His was one of the most fascinating stories of the war. One other ting of note about him is he was the only one to be awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds.

He was a one man wrecking machine. Any time the country you're fighting for has to create a medal especially for you it puts you in pretty rare company I'd imagine. I need to reread the book, I can't remember if any of the aircraft he shot down were downed from his Stuka but if they were then that is almost as impressive as destroying all those ground targets. I wouldn't want to be up against a fighter in one of those things, they weren't exactly nimble in the air.

Close. It's the Arado Ar 68. She was one the first fighters of the new Luftwaffe.
Correct, sir.

Let's make this a little more difficult.
Make/model.

Prewar German seaplane, probably a Blum und Voss something or other.

Never seen one marked in that manner. I know it was a Hienkel float plane from the early 30's but I can't remember it's model.

Will leave it up just a bit longer...

I know the company you're talking about. Talk about making some odd aircraft. I think their engineers sat around getting stoned every morning before getting to work.

Since no one got - Darth was close. It was a Heinkel He 59.

The Germans painted their air sea rescue planes white with red crosses at the start of WW2.
The British found out that, in addition to rescuing downed aviators (from both countries), they were also reporting convoy locations so they started shooting them down. Once that happened, Germany began camouflaging them.

That's a no-no!

I've been playing from Banland.
Some great stuff posted in this thread.
I'm not up on my tanks, but boats and planes I can hang with.
Here is a model of a boat, a not very good boat.
Anyone know the country of origin and name of boat?

I'm on mobile so the pics are a bit small. I believe that ship is Imperial Russian from the flags. Past that I'm not sure. Odd looking thing.
