Y'all are dropping some serious historical knowledge up in this thread, I love it. Do you have to guess correctly to post the next picture? I just finished up a 30 page term paper on the Luftwaffe's secret projects and their potential impact on the war so I've got some pretty obscure aircraft bouncing around in my head at the moment

The only rule we have is you have to guess without using any search functions. So go ahead and join in and let's see what you've got.

I figured as much, I would never cheat anyway. I feel like I should restrain myself to aircraft that actually flew, the Germans had a ton of theoretical concepts at the end of WWII that never made it off the ground that look absolutely ridiculous. This one flew though, any takers?

Thanks for clearing that up!
Well I started doubting myself on the markings. In the 30's the Dutch used this...
But then switched to this...
While the Czechs used this...
The Czech marking look very similar but it's missing the orange circle in the middle and it's turned sideways compared to the Dutch insignia. So I was incorrect on the markings of that Fokker G1. It does have Dutch markings on it.

Way to make me feel like an amature
A lot of what I read pointed towards it being the fastest piston engine fighter of the war. Always thought the twin props fore and aft were a badass design.

You beat me to it. It was nicknamed the Arrow. Had the Germans developed her earlier and got her into production she'd have been a nasty opponent for our flyboys.

Here is an easy one. Make/Model.

That a Focke Wulf FW-200 Condor. The Germans used her in Maritime recon and bombing.

What famous WWII Fighter Ace used this Mickey Mouse personal insignia on his fighter?
Posted on 7/24/14 at 11:00 am to FightinTigersDammit
It is definitely an Arado but for the life of me I can't remember its designation right now and I refuse to cheat

Correct. He was quite fond of Mickey Mouse as had him painted on his 109....

Is that an AR-96?
Close. It's the Arado Ar 68. She was one the first fighters of the new Luftwaffe.

Wrong Arado. The 96 was the Luftwaffe's WW2 trainer. This is the fighter that the Condor Legion used in Spain. Can't remember the name.
