Do you think he deserves the title the great? I personally do but, but am interested to hear any of opinions. If not why don't you think he was great?

Conquered most of the known world. Kind of a big deal.

Well he died prematurely because he didn't know when to stop and his empire almost immediately split into 4 separate kingdoms. Would he have been known as the Great had he had to run this huge empire he created? Or would history not look so kindly on him?

I think he could have encouraged the spread of Greek culture even more than he did. In most places in Asia and Egypt, he left the existing government structure and in some cases left the same people to run it. He might have created Greek city's but he left the native population alone and didn't try to assimilate them into Greek culture.

Solid point. I do recall reading of him even assuming a few Persian things after he had conquered them.

I believe so, he took up some of the dress and customs when addressing his Asian court. I also think he tried to start breeding Macedonians and Persians but died before that could really have been enforced

Yes he should, dude was a heck of a leader/conquerer. Plus he had several cities named after him and one of them had one of the seven wonders of the ancient world at it.

He was one of the most brilliant military strategists of all time. Patton studied his battles.
