Honestly, I would consider a first generation Tundra. It’s a full size truck, but full sized trucks in ‘06 are about the same size of mid sized trucks now. Tacoma’s hold their value too much for me to consider buying used. If you can get by with a first generation Sequoia and buy a trailer to go with it or take the seats out, you can probably go even cheaper in price.

My father in law was a farmer. He said never buy a used truck owned by a farmer, no matter what the mileage.

I bought a 1 ton truck with a utility bed on it about 2 years ago, it's a 1993.
Never would have bought it but the truck only had 125,000 miles on it and it's super easy to work on that engine and truck.
This is an exception for me. Fun truck for $1600

Buy a 2 year old full size truck from a car rental company. It should have less than 30k miles and have all the factory maintenance.

I have a 2014 Silverado LTZ (5.3L) with 110k on it and it's really made me rethink mileage concerns. Zero issues with it and it rides like new. Quiet interior while driving, no weird noises and still smooth. The interior has held up really well too.

I've bought a tacoma with 95k. I now have 200k.
I've had to replace.
Oil
Air filter
Brakepads
Two u joints
Different fluid.
I've never had a vehicle that needed so little work.

I have a Camry with 170k and I am thinking about buying an 8 year newer accord with 65k and I am nervous because I have always had Toyota. Also have a Silverado with 229k that we will replace with a forerunner at some point.

Anyone buying a used Tacoma with less than 20K miles may as well go ahead and buy a new one.
Bruh
He said it was high mileage. I think he meant to type 80,000 instead of 8,000....
I was being an arse.

Tacoma’s are like $35k with 100k miles
Posted on 6/1/19 at 4:25 pm to Bronson2017
100K is just getting broken in these days.

I actually have a 2013 Tacoma with 79k miles for sale if you’re interested.

If has 3.4 V6 or 4.0 V6, 300k miles +, no problem. Seen many times with basic maintenance. Newer (3.5) no power and not really proven yet. 2.7 (4-cylinder) will not last a long (over working to pull weight?).
