Which one is more intriguing as a consumer? I think high speed trains are fascinating because getting from BR to Houston TX is a pain.

Driverless cars. To build a high speed rail with our current infrastructure would cost hundreds of billions. Driverless cars ensures I never have to worry about a ride again. Hell it could just drop me off, go back to my house, and when I'm about 15 minutes from being ready just summon it. That would be game changing.

Driverless cars.
High speed trains are great for a trip, but commuting to work is a daily occurrence.

The high speed trains in Europe are flat out awesome! They also drive the price down on regional airfare due to competition. The Southeast and East Coast would benefit tremendously with a high speed rail system.

Meh. game changing would just be a system of driverless cars picking up people upon request so people aren't wasting money on something that sits in a driveway or parking lot 90% of the day. That's the real future. Would be amazing for people and our cities. Imagine if we could get rid of all those parking lots and garages. That's a lot of new land for development or green space.
