I'd pay good money to see you waddle into a wrestling gym and say that out loud.

I went to a MMA gym four years ago and within two weeks had a staph infection on my knee and thigh. I also in that time got contact dermatitis all over the back of my head and neck. They do not clean the mats like they should.

You most certainly can catch herpes like that. I know someone who caught HSV 1 (oral type) in their pointer finger from gardening according to the dermatologist

It's not herpes if it's everywhere.

Not necessarily. Type 1 and Type 2 can be spread to both areas.

Sucks for that kid. He will have that herpes virus on his face for his entire life.

Probably an initial outbreak. Subsequent outbreaks are much more localized and can be difficult to spot. It won't have any more of an impact on that kid's sex life then a fever blister. A lot of people are carriers of the virus and don't have a clue because they have never had an outbreak. I agree that he probably got it wrestling, because it's on his forehead but he could have gotten it from a kid showing no symptoms of the virus and completely unaware that he had it. My guess is that a sizable portion of kids who have played football, lacrosse, rugby, basketball, etc have been exposed to herpes.

As far as wrestling being gay, if you're no good at the sport, then yes, you probably look gay trying to do it. Those that do it well don't look gay - they look scary as hell and like someone not to be crossed. More Kids should get involved because it builds toughness, a trait sorely lacking from the I-pad generation. But, it's easier for parents to go to the school Principal and claim their kids are being bullied. Good wrestlers are never bullied.
