Rape / sexual assault are pretty interchangeable when talking about forensic evidence being analyzed. Bottom line is there was no sexual contact reported by either party and no evidence of it in the samples taken during the examination.
Many are confusing issues here. The press conference and media frenzy didn’t start because a girl was in the bathroom with an inmate. Had that been the story press releases would look much different. “13 year old child raped by inmate” is a whole different can of worms. The press conference wasn’t to say that the investigation is over. It was only to dispel rumors and quite frankly, lies, that where being fed to the public.
