Anyone have problems with heartburn? I went to the doctor about 2 years ago and he prescribed me Prilosec. The medicine worked wonders but I got tied of being on a pill for so long and wanted to get off of it. Well after a week of not taking it, I can't bare it. Chest pains, nasty burps, headaches, nausea, and bloated feeling. This comes up after I eat anything, I try to eat healthy and it still flares up. Are there any other remedies out there? Should I see the doctor again or just refill my Prilosec?

No, certainly DO NOT go see a trained medical professional again. Simply allow the OT to take over any and all medical decisions for you.

I say, take a handful of jalapeños, mix with garlic, Italian sausage, and red pepper flakes, then slap it on a nice brioche bun with some horseradish.

Problem solved.

Prevacid is actually better for GERD and laryngopharyngeal (GERD is actually misdiagnosed for laryngopharyngeal all the time..) Also, stop drinking soda if you drink any at all, ANY AT ALL.

Prevacid is also a PPI like prilosec but I find it better and keeps working longer.

Also, don't freakin' stop taking the pill completely

I took soda out of my life and that alone allows me to take the pill every 48 - 62 hours. There is almost always 1 trigger that causes this... It took me years to find mine, everyone with constant heartburn has 1 or 2 or 10

ETA: and eating healthy will never fix the underlying problem... sorry
