Only in California would they move on from a naked dude 300 feet in the air that has shut down a major port facility.

Let's see, man steals car, leads cops on chase, climbs to the top of a crane and gets nekkid. Is everybody accounted for on the Poly Board?

Sorry guys. I don't see anymore live streams. Think its too dark now.

The Port of LA should invest in some lights. Lights allow for work at night.

Some excellent gif material though

FYI, the guy fell to his death at 9:20pm.

So about 1hr 15min after the camera shut down.
FWIW - It looked like the # of police on site had increased a bunch before the feed cut out. I'm sure there will be more details released, but I'm curious if the guy died as a result of "goofing off" or something else.
For the record - Something else includes:
- Suspect falls while making riskier moves farther out the platform as police advance (NOT the fault of the police)
- Suspect falls while in physical contact with one or more ppl while being taken into custody (still LIKELY NOT fault of the police)
I'm thinking it was him doing something dumb on his own. An hour seems like a really short window for a negotiator to try to talk him down.

I think it got dark and he missed his step but we'll find out.

I was late to the live feed, but I read one news report that said at some point - He did a headstand. Was that before he climbed the crane? Because if it was WHILE he was up there - Odds are pretty high his dismount did him in.
I'm STUNNED by how easily he was able to drive out into the the port's loading area.
ETA:
Not just drive, but drive donuts all over the place.
Twitter post with video clip of gonzo driving in loading area

I go over that port often and never really looked at how to go in so I'm not sure.
But he did the handstand while the feed was live on top of the crane.

So he made through at least part of his routine.
About 5 years ago - I was working about 2 blocks away from the construction crane a suspect decided to scale while evading police. A couple of my co-workers and I got as close as we were allowed to check out what was going on. Just looking up at where that guy was made me a little queasy... and the guy today was at least 50' higher up.
The Dallas guy attacked the officers that eventually climbed up to do whatever it was they decided to do after a 15 hour standoff. He fell while trying to go farther out on the crane. Pretty sure it's on youtube.

I accidentally drove into the port of Long Beach, CA, and I had gotten failry close to the cranes. I can see if you wanted to, you could get close.
I wonder what the toxicology report will bring. Everyone knew he'd end up falling. I bet viewership was approaching record levels just for this reason.

How do you know the wacist LAPD didn't fire up George W. Bush's weather machine to make a big wind blow him off?
Yes, that was sarcasm.
