Yes a few times in my younger years.
Was cured of my childish ways after spending three days locked away in a small town Texas jail back in my early 20’s.

Same Gas station Sandwich kept being brought to me for my meals.
The same sandwich with the bite I took out of it on day one.
If I complained it was cold the heat would be turned all the way up , when I complained it was too hot the air would be lowered and I would freeze.
Absolutely miserable three days that I’m now very thankful for.

Unfortunately, but it's been expunged. Military service + never having been arrested before. Disturbing the peace.

November 2012. I had just gotten out of the Army a few months prior via honorable discharge after serving my 4. LSU-Bama game, party at a friend's house. Because I was in the Army, it had been years since I dabbled in recreational drug use. That night, I numbed the pain of McCarron to Yeldon by consuming copious amounts of alcohol, weed, and a whole bottle of mushroom tea. We were loud, cops showed up. According to all of my friends and the police report, I kept yelling variations of "GET THE frick OUT OF HERE ASSHOLES!" while they were trying to talk us down. Story goes they gave me a final warning, I yelled again (I was tripping balls), and turned around and did the Stone Cold two finger salute.

*Click, click*

Got to jail, they knew I was tripping balls and put me in a holding cell by myself. Immediately had a bubbly feeling in my stomach from the tea and spent what felt like the next hour shitting my brains out on the toilet/water fountain hybrid. Felt better aferwards. Apologized to cops and friends. Bonded out. Expunged.

Yes, still my friends. Sad time but funny as hell to all of us.

Moral of the story: never dive in to a good time head first.

I'm from the Police State of Louisiana.

Youd have to try hard to not be arrested at least once in your life here.

I've been arrested 3 times. Twice as a juvenile and once as an adult.

I've been illegally searched more times than I can count. Even under protest and of course under duress. The concept of probable cause is lost on the residents of Louisiana. "The ends justify the means" is a poisoned well.

Sounds to me like you’re a frick up.

I’m from the same state, done my fair share of stupid shite over the course of 6 decades and haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing any of the above.

Not at all. I'm just different and that attracts attention.

I'll give you a specific example.

Most people here love wearing long pants. Even in the middle of summer people wear jeans for some reason. I grew up in construction. Saw it all the time there as well. Makes no fricken sense to me at all. People wearing jeans in August in south Louisiana.

I wear shorts almost exclusively. It would have to be below 50 degrees all day for me to consider wearing long pants. Even days here where it starts out really cold in the morning it often gets warm to hot by midday and it's a lot easier to take a jacket off than it is to change pants so I just wear shorts and a jacket and deal with it.

This wardrobe combination actually got me illegally stopped and searched by a St. Tammany Sheriff's officer a few years back

Sorry for the OweO post

When I was a juvenile I definitely had a bad attitude. But tell me, is it illegal to have a bad attitude?

You see that attitude is the problem with the Louisiana. 'I don't like him, ergo, let's find a reason to arrest him.'

Ok guy.

Is it your contention that law enforcement aren't human and don't take things personally when they interact with the public? Because that hasn't been my experience at all.

Wasn't there a video here last year of a guy who was recording some Jefferson Parish officers at a parade and they were jawing back and forth with each other and just about all 6 of them grabbed the guy and ripped him across the barricades and arrested him.

I wonder what the charge was?

No.

Nor mine.

No idea.

No clue.

I've been arrested twice.

Maybe you need to use your experiences to have better outcomes. So many people on this site talk about what idiots the police are and yet can't figure out how to avoid them or avoid sour experiences. Don't know what to tell you.

Twice, once for fighting and once for DWI. Haven't driven after drinking since, or let's just say I follow the 1 drink an hour rule. I'll have 1 jack and water when I go to a restaurant and that's it. The fighting incident wasn't bad, I got brought in and a friend came and got me out, never had to go to court or anything. I was polite as hell to the police though, wasn't even on bail, they just let me leave and told me to stay out of trouble.

The DWI, I definitely deserved, knew the cop that pulled me over also. Someone had called the police and he wanted to call one of our friends to come get me but the person who called was there watching. They did the right thing, taught me a big lesson I shouldn't have needed to be taught in the first place. Unfortunate, but glad I didn't harm anyone.

ETA; What makes my DWI story worse is we had a designated driver. I drove my vehicle out to the party and we had a sober driver to take us home, then the next day a buddy was gonna take me back out to my truck. I got really drunk too fast and decided I wanted to go home to hunt early in the morning. My buddies had wandered off and apparently I never said a word, just walked to truck and left. Also to add, apparently according to my buddy and one of the other cops I know, I was putting on a good show with all the other jail birds. Glad to know my jokes were "funny" and I had everyone including the guards rolling laughing while in jail. I wish my jokes on here could be that funny.

Thanks for responding properly. Or at all. Most people don't.

I haven't been arrested since I was 18. That was the one time I was arrested as an adult.

Of the three times I've been arrested only one was semi legitimate and that was one of the juvenile incidents. In no cases were any charges ever accepted in any of the arrests. That should tell you something.

Law enforcement here uses blanket arrests as a way to feel like they're doing something and then let's the DA and judges sort it out on the back end. This ties up the court and waste taxpayers dollars and creates a bad repport between law enforcement and the general public. It's a terrible approach and it needs to be reined in.

It took a guy from Michigan suing the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office for the feds to finally take over the shitshow at OPP. Sheriff's offices in Louisiana are way too cozy and have far too much power.
